Wednesday, 11th September, 2013. THIRSTY FOR GOD? “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.”Psalm 63:1. Have you ever imagined a world without water; no rain, ocean sea, river, stream or bore holes? There is no life without water. Water is to the body what God is to our soul. If we cannot do without drinking water in a day how can we survive without God? The soul of every man that journeys through the earth hungers and thirsts after God but cares and transient pleasures of life want to take the place of God in our hearts. We cannot find true fulfillment in life until we drink of the fountain that never runs dry but in us a well of water springing up into eternal life (John 4:9-15) which is in Christ. The water of God’s Word refreshes, energizes and sanctifies our souls just as natural water quenches our thirst; but you cannot drink beyond your degree of thirst. The thirstier you are for God and seek Him, the more real He becomes to you and grants you access to His riches and revelation. Drink (read) the word daily, pray and live a consecrated life and your life will keep shining brighter and brighter unto a perfect day. QUOTE: You can’t drink beyond your degree of thirst. WORD OF PRAYER: Heavenly Father, grant me the passion to thirst for your Word. Let your Word become a fountain that will never run dry in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen!
