Wednesday 26th November Midweek Special As we move into the season of Advent we will be looking at some characters in Luke’s gospel who get very excited about God. One of the features of Luke’s gospel is that he reminds us that for centuries, people have been waiting, longing and yearning for the coming of Messiah. Christmas hope is not something that was invented, out of nothing, 2000 years ago; it is the climax of centuries of cherished promises coming to their fulfilment. What God promises, he will perform. “Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eye witnesses and servants of the word. With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught|”. Luke 1:1-4
