Adama, Kaduna Hits: 429 Former Commissioner for Information in Kaduna State, Alhaji Rabi’u Bako, has expressed concerns over insinuations in some quarters that Vice President Architect Mohammed Namadi Sambo, is not a capable leader and, therefore, not fit to be the running mate of President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 presidential election. He said that Sambo is not a political liability, ‘‘because on many occasions, he has been in firm control and has run the country well whenever President Jonathan was away’’. Alhaji Rabi’u, who spoke in Kaduna, also called on Northerners and groups fighting for peace, security and economic development of the region to unite ahead of the 2015 elections in order to vote in credible leaders. He cautioned elder statesmen against making inflammatory statements capable of ruining the nation’s stability. Bako said, ‘‘My attention has also been drawn to the statement credited to the deposed Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Mustapha Jokolo, in which he castigated Vice President Namadi Sambo, saying he is not capable of running with President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 elections. Such statement coming from a respected Nigerian and a Northerner is not only astonishing but regrettable. It should be made clear that the vice president is not a political liability as claimed by Jokolo, because Sambo was elected governor of Kaduna State before his present position as the number two citizen of the country’.’ back to top Facebook Disqus LATEST NEWS Sambo not a political liability - Former commissioner Fayemi commissioned uncompleted projects - Fayose’s aide Wada warns contractors against delay 150 MDGs projects commissioned in Gombe ‘Why conflicts persist in health institutions’ ..As NYSC trains corps doctors on resurgence FG moves to ensure Ebola safe practices Supreme Court gets new justice today Malabu: Counsel denies firm sought to stop oil block’s probe Family of murdered lecturer petitions police Jonathan warns on post-election violence Gombe spends N967m on malaria Varsity recruits 334 lecturers 4,483 jostle for 1,200 varsity admission slots Road mishaps: 2,000 die annually in Abuja, 2 other cities 123PrevNext AGRICULTURE EDUCATION ENVIRONMENT HEALTH HOME FRONT IT WORLD LABOUR LAW PROPERTY ISLAMIC FORUM WOMEN ENTERPRENEURS InternationalLettersVideosPhotosAdvertisePollNews IndepthFor The RecordTop StoriesEmail Media Trust Limited (C) 2013
