Wednesday, April 3, 2013 HUMANITY - Written by Gopabandhu Patra, God created a beautiful living being in his own image is known as ―Human‖ after creating everything in this universe. Hence in holy bible said: “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”(Genesis 1:27). Again it is said in Bible “He created them male and female, and he blessed them and called them "human." (Genesis 5:2) The mankind has come from a word ―Mann‖ which means obedient. He is real a human being who is obedient to others, very easily obey others principle. The root meaning of Indian or Western ―man‖ is Mind (mana) . Again the word ‗mana‘ Can have different meanings like e,g praying, thinking ,believing, imagining, considering, remembering, regarding, having affection, understanding, seeing, observing, realizing , giving permission etc . If these any one of these qualities are present, then he is called as a ‗human‘. The human being has lost his humanity by running behind his ego which will not allow him to understand others‘ problems easily. Sri Sri Thakur says “Narrow self-fulfilling urge is the germ of war”( The message- IV). Hence to keep the humanity in a proper manner Sri Sri Thakur further says “- If human being will not be under an Ideal then that person is not a human. Human will be an human being after sheltering under an Ideal , he has to bear his commands, beating, scolding etc..Likewise Master Ramdas was applying same thing with Mr. Sivaji becomes real Sivaji”. (Diparakshi- 2nd chapter, Page-222). There are many examples in our history like, a young unknown named Chandragupta who was roaming aimlessly in forests, but founded the Great Maurya Empire Chandragupta succeeded in conquering most of the Indian subcontinent by obeying the commands of his guru, Chanakya. Again by obeying the commands of Sri Ramakrishna Thakur, an unnoticed fellow ―Narendra nath dutta‖ became Swami Vivekananda whom we know as a one of the most intelligent person in the world. A stone has capability to produce light but it has to make friction with another stone to produce light. Likewise when a man follows the Commands of the living ideal then his inner instincts blossom, which will reflect on humanity throughout his life. We all always think about ourselves that we are great and feel that we are not less important than anybody else. Always expecting that everybody should give respect to us, even sometimes we demand this! If somebody is not giving respect or ignoring then we feel very bad or get angry. Generally, we have seen that whenever we are going to accomplish a work, if somebody is ignoring not to do that work, we become very angry with him. It is just a stiff ego which 14 makes us feel upset and create obstacle to complete the work. But Sri Sri Thakur says that ―We should not be quick-tempered or upset if somebody is ignoring us.‖. In this context, I‘m giving two example of great Living master. ―Everyday Guru Ramdas was living by begging food from two to three houses. Once he went in morning to beg for food, in front of the door he kept singing ―Bikshyam dehi..‖(Give me alms). During that time, the owner of that house was in angry mood, Ramdas song created more anger inside her heart. She was cleaning the house with a small cloth and that cloth was very dirty. After seeing Ramdas in front of her house, she threw the cloth to him. Ramdas didn‘t get upset/angry after getting this behavior from the lady (house owner). He took the dirty cloth from her and went into the river to take bath and cleaned the dirty cloth . After reaching his house, he dried the cloth. During the evening time, Ramdas prayed by lighting the ―lantern ―(pradeep) using that cloth, ―Oh God‖ bless soft heart to that mother like the lantern that is burning itself giving light to others. Likewise while beloved Sri Sri Thakur was studying in medical college. ―He was a medical student. One day, Lord George V(from England ) had come to Kolkata. Sri Sri Thakur along with the people was standing to pay respect and welcome him (the weather was terribly warm). At that moment one policeman started beating everybody without any specific reason. The Policeman also beat Sri Sri Thakur badly wit h ―Batten‖, But Sri Sri Thakur neither reacted nor left that place badly hurt by the police. After observing this kind of very cruel behavior of the policeman, One of the white high class officers came and hit to the police by his own foot wear. The policeman fainted, Sri Sri confronted the English officer. Later he helped the policeman regain his consciousness and return to his normal condition From the above two incidents it is proven that, even after getting bad behavior from others, Sri Sri Thakur and Ramdas were never upset or angry. However they were wishing for the well being of the person and provided there sympathy for the mankind. Similarly, If we see many ―Abataris‖(Incarnations) life, they were ignored by people but they have not stopped their mission rather encouraged people to follow the perfect path of life. So, the person who has been ignored/tortured by others but still he has not biased with his aim and with a strong adherence to living Ideal to provide more service and spread Ideal‘s philosophy to the society is a real human being and has ―Humanity‖. Satsang is a ―Man Making factory‖ which tries to make a man whom people will love and trust. The in born nature of the human being is ―Love and trust‖. If we follow the tenets of Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra as a living ideal and obey his philosophy then we can become a godly man with full of ―Humanity, the inner hankering of each one of us‖.
