Wednesday December 31st 2014 Domestic Violence Sends One To Hospital A woman was transported to RMH by ambulance following an incident of domestic violence at her Lindsay home Tuesday morning. She had allowed her spouse to reside in a basement apartment following their separation. She suspected her ex to have been in her portion of the residence and confronted him in the basement shortly after 8am Tuesday morning. During the confrontation, she was pushed to the floor which resulted in her head striking the cement floor. A family member called police. A 60 year old Lindsay man was charged with assault and detained in custody pending a bail hearing later that day. Tools Stolen From Backyard Shed Thieves forced entry to a locked back yard shed situated at an Adelaide Street South property overnight Monday. On Tuesday morning the home owner reported a number of tools missing, including a Poulan and Homelite chain saw. Pharmacy Shoplifting A Rexall Pharma Plus loss prevention officer arrested a man for shoplifting a kitchen knife and a shaving razor Tuesday afternoon. At 1pm a man was observed to conceal the two items inside his winter coat and leave the store without paying for the items. 42 year old Gary Dale Hicks was arrested outside the store and charged with theft, possession of stolen property and failing to comply with an order of his probation. Mr. Hicks will appear in court on January 29th. How Do You Explain This One To Mother? An Ops Township man called police Tuesday morning to report two wallets stolen from his residence overnight. The investigating officer determined the man had earlier been online and ordered the services of two “ladies of the night”. Following the departure of the two women, he discovered that the wallets belonging to both himself and his mother had been stolen. The investigation into both the theft and the prostitution continues. There currently have been no charges laid.
