Wednesday, January 14: Today we talked to the admission office at Texas Tech about Pierce, our oldest son. We had some questions about housing, scholarships – normal stuff. The admission’s counselor, says – “well for sure he’s admitted “….blah blah…….Pierce has the gift of intelligence. He thinks of things I am sure no human ever thought of before. Because of his grades and his class rank, he is admitted really to any college he might choose. But he chooses Texas Tech and didn’t even really want to talk to anyone else. We are glad and excited and nervous and…….But he is ADMITTED. Admitted by definition means “allow to enter a place”. So I thought about admission, I am so that thankful that Pierce was admitted into the school where he really wants to attend. But his admission is a result of years of hard work and diligence. But the most importance admission – eternal life – also has a cost. But there’s a catch. It costs you nothing. But it cost Jesus everything. You see his substitutionary death to pay the price for all our sins is a gift – and it is free. All we have to do is believe. How amazing to consider that we could be loved so much – that we would receive admission to heaven for free – even if we didn’t have the grades to get in – which none of do – we utterly fail at life. But Praise the Lord that He bought us with the life of His Son and that for all who believe on Him – we are admitted. So have you been admitted? I pray all will receive the gift of admission through Jesus. So today I am thankful for college admission, and Heavenly admission. “For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:11 Glory to God…..Sunday’s coming…….
