Wednesday, January 21, 2015 I will be sending out a daily prayer list, please read and pray for these people. Thanks so much. OLD TESTAMENT Genesis 41: 25-27 25 Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The dreams of Pharaoh are one and the same. God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 26 The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good heads of grain are seven years; it is one and the same dream. 27 The seven lean, ugly cows that came up afterward are seven years, and so are the seven worthless heads of grain scorched by the east wind: They are seven years of famine. In the dream the cows and grain represent years. God is giving Pharaoh a heads up about this dream, letting him know that for 7 years things will be ok in Egypt, the land will prosper, but after that there is going to be 7 years of famine. NEW TESTAMENT Mark 1:1-12 John the Baptist Prepares the Way 1 The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God, 2 as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way”—3 “a voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’” 4 And so John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 5 The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. 6 John wore clothing made of camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. 7 And this was his message: “After me comes the one more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. 8 I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” Mark is telling what he recalls of the days of walking with the Lord. He is describing John the Baptist. God Bless you, Me
