Wednesday, July 3 Phase IV Groundbreaking We are pleased to share that construction on the fourth and final phase of The Parklands of Floyds Fork begins on July 3, 2013. This phase includes work on The Strand, Turkey Run Park and Broad Run Park, set to open in 2015. U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer will join 21st Century Parks officials and key donors in a groundbreaking ceremony the morning of July 3rd. The ceremony celebrates a nearly $35 million investment in infrastructure and amenities which will result in more than 2,400 acres of new donor-supported public parks, making it the largest park development project in Louisville since the original Olmsted park and parkway system was developed in the late 1800s. Directions from Downtown Louisville: Go east on I-64. Take exit 19A to merge onto I-265S/Gene Snyder Freeway. Take exit 19 for Billtown Road toward KY-1819. Turn left onto Billtown Road (drive 0.7 miles). Turn left onto Seatonville Road (drive 1.5 miles).
