Wednesday July 30, 2014 - Transplant Prep, Day 3 A very good evening to you all! Mommy took Sisters back to Rochester today to spend the day and night with Chase. I think that was good for everyone. Apparently Chase does not like our morning radiation sessions. they have to medicate for the morning because he is woken up for it and he does not like to be woken up. Afternoon sessions go much better. The Head Surgeon came in to look at a suspicious lump on Chases leg that they have been treating for almost a month with antibiotics. The lump has not gone down and the Surgeon is going to surgically remove the lump. They are also having a problem accessing his Hickman Port but the Surgeon absolutely refuses to do both at the same time because of cross contamination. They are now administering meds by the IV in the back of his hand. This IV however, will not work for transplant because the needle is not big enough. They wanted to replace the Hickman Port but Lizzy is not sure how they will proceed from here with that. They have to remove the lump on his leg first then they will proceed from there. Lizzy said they may move up the actual transplant to Monday instead of Tuesday but shes not sure. I am sure that more will be confirmed as soon as they have the lump taken care of. Lizzy said that there are a lot of people looking for an address to send things to Chase. The families new temporary address is, 39 Glenside Ave., Tonawanda, NY 14223. Please send anything that you would like. That is all for today. Day 3 down and the family is settling in for the night. They will return to Buffalo with the girls tomorrow.
