Wednesday Match Reports (28/05/14): Walnut Tree 10 – 1 Wasteful Pedro MOM: Simon Teale TS: Tommy (6) The Walnut remain top this week after a brilliant performance against Wasteful Pedro, the boys were dominant from start to finish and really caused problems for John Lillie who some will say didn’t deserve to concede 10 after pulling of some brilliant saves, Tommy from the tree scored an outstanding six goals was a real problem through out, Gaz once again was solid at the back and commanded his backline with Simon Teale instrumental in midfield! Tea & Busquets 6 – 4 Chef Utd MOM: Tom Reddo TS: Jay (2) A real tight game tonight against 2 good sides, In the early exchanges of the game the Chef’s were on top with Danny Foster nicking the first goal, the Chef boys carried on this fine display of football and grabbed another brilliant goal however Tea & Busquets had enough! They weren’t going to roll over and all of a sudden turned it on and before we knew it had bagged 2 goals in quick succession! From there the theme of quick succession goals continued and we went into the break 4-3 T&B! The start if the second half saw The Chef boys pull it back through Chopper who was a force to be reckoned with in this game however T&B had just enough to nick the win tonight, well done boys! Whites Wanderers 5 – 6 Raoul Moatrid MOM: Lee Topping TS: Dean Layton (2) This one went right to the wire as league leaders Whites Wanderers took on Moatrid! A shock result in this one as Raoul Moatrid took all 3 points at the last. The league leaders made them work for it though with some fast attacking football being played out from defence. Moatrid had to be clever and catch the Wanderers on the counter attack and eventually their persistence paid off! Danny Whites side definitely missed the prolific Lee Powell and Sean Stockdale tonight, and the gaffer will need to make sure they are in the side when they face The Phoenix Knights who won tonight to pile the pressure on the Wanderers in the league table.
