Wednesday, November 13, 2013 Come And Drink! Scripture - Whenever I am in deep trouble, you make me live again; you send your power against my enemies’ wrath; you save me with your strong hand. (Psalms 138:7 CEB) On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and shouted, All who are thirsty should come to me! All who believe in me should drink! As the scriptures said concerning me, Rivers of living water will flow out from within him. (John 7:37, 38 CEB) Observation - Jesus invitation to the troubled and thirsty stands; He says Come! But we must not stop there; we must also drink! Our mental assent must become an actual partaking of Jesus Himself, of who He is. Its one thing for me to sit poolside, enjoying the atmosphere, its quite another thing to jump in, allowing the water to envelop my whole being. Jesus says dive in! Application - Am I simply devoted to Christ or am I drinking deeply? Deep troubles demand drinking deeply; am I partaking of Christ? Prayer - Lord Jesus, my Fount and flowing River, I come believing the promise to all who will partake. Make me live again! Send Your Great Power! Save me from all my distresses! Amen; Amen; Amen.
