Wednesday, November 19th 2014 SHUN WORLDLY KNOWLEDGE Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you from being priest for me. Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I will forget your children.” Seeking knowledge is very important in this world; but there are two types of knowledge and you should make a choice as to which of them to seek. There is the Godly knowledge which can be sought from the word of God by reading, listening and meditating on the word, and worldly knowledge which is available almost everywhere. Today’s reading is telling us that, people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. The fact is that, the knowledge being talked about here is not worldly knowledge but rather a Godly one. The reason why people should seek Godly knowledge is for them not to perish. Godly knowledge can be found in the word of God and nowhere else. The word of God is also the truth that liberates the Christian from any satanic bondage and removes any obstacle that might come his way. Many Christians are well versed in worldly knowledge and possess little knowledge in the Bible because they have been in the world too long. Any knowledge you acquire which is not in conformity with the word of God should not be entertained. For instance, worldly knowledge will tell you to save and become rich whilst Godly knowledge will tell you to sow and reap. Worldly knowledge will tell you to believe the bad medical report, whilst Godly knowledge will tell you that by Jesus’ stripes you were healed. You cannot claim to be a true believer when you base your life on worldly knowledge. As a Christian, you should shun worldly knowledge and focus on Godly or Biblical knowledge if you want to live a victorious Christian life. Confession for Today Through the power of the gospel I declare myself loosed from all chains of the enemy in the Mighty name of Jesus.
