Canmores Big Head sculpture will be wearing a celebratory message on a blue head band and decorated with childrens handprints. Wrap a blue piece of yarn around colleagues wrists that day, simply sharinga positive message about ouryoung people, like Make sure to hug a child today; its National Childrens Day!CELEBRATE OUR MOST PRECIOUS RESOURCE - CHILDREN There are many ways to get involved in celebrating National Child Day in your community, home, school or agency - here are just a few ideas:Participate in the Blue Ribbon Campaign by making your own ribbons and sharing them with others – wearing a blue ribbon shows that you support Canada’s children having prime consideration in all economic, social and political decisions, policies, programs and expenditures. - Tell a friend, neighbor, colleague or your school about National Child Day - Send a card to a child, caregiver or teacher in honour of the day- Become a mentor - Explore ways to make your community a safer place for children - Reflect on your ability to ensure children receive prime consideration in all decisions that affect them, on both personal and professional levels - Host a community event to celebrate children’s rights – invite your local politician to raise awareness of children’s issues - Collect and donate clothing, books and toys for a children’s charity or daycare - Do an art project with a child, celebrating their rights and responsibilities - Give children a chance to express themselves through song, movement and stories
