Wednesday, November 26 Psalm 33:10-22 O LORD, WE HOPE IN YOU We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. Psalm 33:20, NIV We often rely on our well-prepared and mapped-out plans and we strategically put in place all that we think will be necessary for a good life, family, ministry, career, and even old age. After doing these, we believe we have done all that is required to lay hold of the good life we dream of. It is important, however, to note that most often, these mapped out plans blindfold us from the fact that it is only “the plans of the LORD that stand firm forever” (v. 11). Hence, planning very well, without God at the fore, does not guarantee success. Before any plan can be actualized, God examines the heart of the ‘planner’ and gives careful consideration to all he or she does (v. 15). God looks out to see if those plans are built around people (v. 16) or your area(s) of strength (v. 17), (your skills, affluence, certificates, eloquence and so on). God will only attend to the one who rely and hope in Him (v. 18, NLT). He will help and attend to those whose desire, cry, and aspirations, on a daily basis is on Him (vs. 20-22).
