Wednesday, students united for a day dressed in gold in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The gold symbolizes American Childhood Cancer Organization Gold Ribbon Heroes, which represent individuals who have made a positive impact on the lives of others. Almost 16,000 children under the age of 21 are diagnosed with cancer every year; approximately ¼ of them will not survive the disease.
