Wednesday will start on a very cold note with early morning temperatures ranging from the teens across locations away from the larger cities and larger bodies of water. Elsewhere, early morning temps will be mainly in the lower to middle 20s. temperatures will moderate slightly (33-37F) during the afternoon, as the winds take on more of a southwesterly component. What is more, morning sunshine will give way to increasing afternoon cloudiness, as a warm front approaches from the southwest. A major pattern change in the upper atmosphere, will set off a major warming trend across our area by later in the weekend/early next week.
