Wednesdays SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK has a MARGINAL RISK for SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS across parts of Northern California with a slim tornado risk for a waterspout or a brief, small tornado onshore possible for this morning near the coastal regions. Wednesdays NATIONAL FORECAST SUMMARY from Forecaster David Saurer: Weve been watching a frontal system that extends from the Mid-Atlantic states and extending into the Southern Plains will finally begin to move off the Eastern Seaboard by this evening and Southward to the Eastern Gulf Coast by tomorrow morning. In the meantime, we can expect some areas of light rain showers to develop along and near the boundary layer from the Central Appalachians to the Mid-Atlantic states for this morning. In additions, an upper level energy wave over the Great Lakes is sweeping Eastward to Eastern Canada by tomorrow PM. For now, this energy wave will produce some rain in parts of the Lower Great Lakes to the Northeastern states with snowfall in the interior Northern New England expected today. There is some moisture from the Gulf of Mexico that will be streaming Northward and overrun the frontal boundary layer to producing some rainfall over portions of Arkansas into Northeastern Texas, Southeastern Oklahoma and expand Eastward into the Southern Ohio Valley and Central Appalachians by tomorrow PM. Rainfall is also expected to expand into the Southern Plains by tomorrow PM as well. Finally, a weakening boundary is moving into the California coastal sections and begin to dissipate by this PM. The system is producing some light to moderate rain fall over parts of California through tomorrow morning. The rain is expected over parts of Northern California through tomorrow PM. Some isolated thunderstorms are ongoing, this morning, across Northern California with a MARGINAL RISK in place. A waterspout, or a brief, small onshore tornado is possible through the late morning. Be aware of that factor. Rain is moving into parts of the Desert Southwest and Great Basin for tomorrow morning and will end by tomorrow evening. Rain and higher elevation snowfall is expected over the Pacific Northwest to the Central Rockies through tomorrow PM. This precipitation shield will then expand into the Northern Intermountain region to the Northern Rockies for tomorrow PM with patches of rain to freezing rain will develop over the Oregon Cascades for this afternoon.
