Wednesdays with Bruiser- The summer heat in Texas is brutal, and it takes its toll on everyone and everything- including pool chemistry. The hotter it gets, the faster bacteria and algae will grow. In fact, bacteria and algae grow fastest when your pool water is between 80 and 110 degrees. Because of this, it is a good idea to have as many layers of protection in your pool water as possible. Mineral systems will help combat the negative effects of the summer heat. Mineral systems like the Nature2 and Pool Rx are economical eco-friendly options effective in battling chlorine-resistant algaes. Another option is to install an ozonator which injects the water with O3, this naturally destroys bacteria and other contaminants. If you are DIY’er, both systems can be purchased from our retail location. Or you can call our service department to schedule installation. Already have a Nature2 or Pool Rx? Don’t forget to switch the cartridges out every 6 months. For more information on this, and other helpful tips, check out Todd’s blog: tjohnston86.tumblr/post/85731347843/mineral-purification
