Wee thought for the day... The Ibiza DJ I’ve been out to - TopicsExpress

Wee thought for the day... The Ibiza DJ I’ve been out to Ibiza for 4 summer seasons working now and love the place.. It’s not always plain sailing and if you wan’t to be successful as a DJ, can be pretty hard work.... In that time I’ve played quite a few gigs, been involved in running, promoting and playing at my own nights and this season realising a lifetime dream by playing at Cafe Mambo. My wee thought is that I wouldn’t call myself straight out an Ibiza DJ...I’d love too...but it’s more something I aspire to be... I mean I love the place to bits and a massive part of my heart lies there, and as far as paid dj work goes most of my work has been out there and I have to confess to not playing very many gigs for free...but I was born in Glasgow and brought up in Dundee... if anything I’m a Dundee DJ I guess... but then on the flipside I haven’t played very much in Dundee so i can’t really call myself that either...so i guess I’m more like my wee pal ‘the littlest hobo’ with no fixed abode... My point is I keep seeing these promotions for ‘Ibiza DJ’s’ who’ve emerged on the scene.. been out for a season.. or maybe just a holiday and a couple of free gigs...I just wondered whilst they were across on said ‘wee’ holiday.. had they applied and attained residential status on the island.. or is that the deal you get now when you play for free...?? Would love to hear from you guys :D If it is I might consider a free gig or two... and ‘maybe tomorrow it will be time to settle down, until tomorrow I’ll just keep moving on’... haha x youtube/watch?v=0p8oeiVDcx4
