Week 1: Macro-Kitchen: Saffron I am new to this challenge and learning photography. Close-up setting would finally get in focus then button would not depress - not sure why it does that. Anyhow, my macro (ummm...closeup) is of saffron. Minimal edits in iPhoto - cannot wait to get Lightroom downloaded before next challenge (I could not get that flash glare removed with iPhoto). Saffron is a spice rich in color and in price in the U.S. While my husband was deployed to the Middle East he had a chance to go to the Souqs and brought home a beautiful container (which I also wanted to showcase in the photo) filled with saffron threads - we have been savoring these for awhile now with our favorite recipe being saffron risotto. :-) Canon Rebel t3i w/ kit lens.
