Week 1 of The Strength 4 Endurance Project is just about wrapped up and its been tough both physically and mentally!! Finished off the last weights session this morning with some light box squats. This pause at the bottom takes away your muscles stretch reflex, making you work harder out of the hole - my weakness! In terms of weights, its been a bit of an experimental week. In some lifts my programmed weight was too heavy and in others too light. When its come to the cardio sessions, especially in the pool or on the bike, Ive felt awful and I found myself questioning what was wrong but I just have to keep reminding myself its a 15 week program. The fatigue in the legs and arms that Im feeling means Im working them harder than I normally would which in turn is exactly what will make me stronger once the body recovers and adapts throughout the programs cycles.
