Week 14 Notes Headlines: 3-0 For Top Three Shepard Ties Shut-Out Record Blues Winning Streak At 11 Vipers 5 Barrage 3 - The Vipers got off to a good start this week with a win over the Barrage. Art McCoy scored a pair of goals for the Vipers, while Darryl Moorcroft, Wyatt Ashworth, and Bryan Letcher added singles. Marc Guitard, Carl Brown, and Wayne Helpard scored the Barrage goals. Vipers 4 Collective 1 - The Vipers continued their good start with back to back wins. Wyatt Ashworth scored a pair of goals for the Vipers, while Jim Taylor and Darryl Moorcroft added singles. Mike Clarke scored the only Collective goal to spoil Tony Bonnar’s shut-out bid. Warriors 7 Barrage 5 - The Warriors started their day with a win over the Barrage. Denis Loubert led the way for the Warriors with a hat-trick, while Ray Chase had a pair of goals, and Jon Loubert and Troy Doyle added singles. Marc Guitard led the way for the Barrage with four goals, while Carl Brown added a single. Warriors 7 Vipers 5 - The Warriors began their day with back to back 7-5 victories. Ray Chase, Jon Loubert, and Denis Loubert each scored a pair of goals for the Warriors, while Troy Doyle added a single. Darryl Moorcroft and Art McCoy each scored a pair of goals for the Vipers, while Jim Taylor added a single. Barrage 12 Collective 5 - The Barrage rebounded from earlier losses with a convincing win over the Collective. Marc Guitard led the way for the Barrage with 7 goals, while Carl Brown had a hat-trick and Wayne Helpard added a pair of goals. Mike Luff and spare Adam Ferguson each scored a pair of goals for the Collective, while Mike Clarke added a single. Warriors 9 Collective 3 - The Warriors cruise to a win in their final game this week to go 3-0 for the first time since December 1st. Ray Chase led the way for the Warriors with 5 goals, while Denis Loubert scored a pair, and Troy Doyle and Jon Loubert added singles. Rick Bartlett scored a pair of goals for the Collective, while Mike Clarke added a single. Smokin’ Aces 9 Shooters 4 - The Smokin’ Aces got off to a good start this week with a convincing win over the Shooters. Stephen Rafuse led the way for the Smokin’ Aces with four goals, while Vince MacDonald added a hat-trick, and Tyson Taylor and Larry Condly added singles. Yvon Mayer scored a pair of goals for the Shooters, while Jeremy Snow and Frederik Mailhot-Landry added singles. FUBAR 5 Smokin’ Aces 1 - FUBAR started their day with a tight defensive win over the Aces. Shawn Kane led the way for FUBAR with a hat-trick, while Ian Stevens and Mike Hossack added singles. Tyson Taylor scored the only Smokin’ Aces goal to spoil Scott Shepard’s shut-out bid. FUBAR 10 Shooters 0 - There was no spoiling Scott Shepard’s shut-out bid during this game against the Shooters, as FUBAR cruised to the win. Mike Hossack led the way for FUBAR with four goals, while Ian Stevens scored a hat-trick, Shawn Kane added a pair of goals, and Mark Whitlock had a single. Scott tied the record for the most shut-outs during a regular season at five with 6 weeks left. Smokin’ Aces 9 Shooters 8 - The Smokin’ Aces outlasted the Shooters for the close win. Stephen Rafuse and Chris Benoit led the way for the Aces each with four goals, while Vince MacDonald added a single. It was a tough loss by the Shooters as Jeremy Snow and Doug Taylor each scored hat-tricks, while Frederik Mailhot-Landry and Mathieu Vaillancourt added singles. Blues 7 Fog Devils 2 - The Blues got off to a good start this week with a convincing win over the Fog Devils. Mike Moore, Mike Connor, and Anthony Crawford each scored a pair of goals for the Blues, while Andrew Trecartin added a single. Collin Sleep and Davie Mossman scored the Fog Devils goals. FUBAR 4 Unicorn 1 - FUBAR finish the day 3-0 with a win over the Unicorns. Shawn Kane scored a pair of goals for FUBAR, while Mike Hossack and Jeff King added singles. Brent McKenna scored the only Unicorns goal to spoil Scott Shepard’s shut-out bid. Scott only allowed two goals this week and did earn a shut-out. Blues 10 Unicorns 0 - The Blues cruised to a win against the Unicorns. The Unicorns were unable to score against Brandon Leet-MacFarlane as he earned his 2nd shut-out of the season. Justin McKillop led the way for the Blues with four goals, while Mike Moore and Jamie Williams each scored a pair, and Andrew Trecartin and Mike Connor added singles. Blues 4 Fog Devils 3 - The Blues finish the week 3-0 for the 3rd consecutive time by winning their 11th straight game with a tight battle against the Fog Devils. Mike Moore led the way with a hat-trick, while Justin McKillop added a single goal. Collin Sleep scored a pair of goals for the Fog Devils, while Davie Mossman added a single. Fog Devils 9 Unicorns 9 - Both team’s offense exploded in this game but they ended up with a tie. Collin Sleep led the way for the Fog Devils with five goals, while Ian Lapointe scored a hat-trick, and Davie Mossman added a single. Greg Geurts led the way for the Unicorns with six goals, while Brent McKenna scored a pair, and Trevor Graham added a single. This week’s three stars picked by me. 1st Star - Scott Shepard - Only allowed 2 goals in 3 FUBAR wins this week, including a shut-out. 2nd Star - Brandon Leet-MacFarlane - Only allowed 5 goals in 3 Blues wins this week, including a shut-out. 3rd Star - Ray Chase - Led the league and his team with 18 points in 3 Warriors wins this week, including 9 goals. Honorable Mentions - Marc Guitard scored 12 goals and 17 points, including a 7 goal game. Denis Loubert scored 7 goals and 16 points. Stephen Rafuse scored 8 goals and 14 points.
