Week 14 update: 07/12/2014 Can we all please remember League Rules with regards to Cup matches within the Alliance. There is always extra time before penalties in our cup competitions if the scores are level after 90 mins. There are no replays, results are to be obtained on the day. Please take your League Handbooks with you to matches and quote League Rule 24(F). On a brighter note; another weekend of a record breaking number of goals flying past the 36 GKs who bravely stand there trying to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In 18 contested matches there were no fewer than 114 goals scored. LONDON SUNDAY TROPHY - ROUND 3 Premier division club Stanley Lions bowed out of the LFA Sunday Trophy after a 4-3 defeat AET vs Cyprus Youth (K.L.N). Unlucky guys, concentrate on the League campaign now and start to catch up on League fixtures. DEWAR SHIELD - ROUND 3: Danson Albion 2 New London 4 A brilliant result for New London in the above fixture, beating a team who are leading the division above them, beauty of the cups eh??! ALLIANCE CUP - QUARTER FINAL: Bexley Athletic 1 Woodside Celtic Reserves 3 Woodside Celtic Reserves turn the form book upside down as a run of indifferent League results are masked by a fabulous away win against a very good Bexley Athletic team. Woodside Celtic Reserves will now face either FC Bexley or Junior Reds Spartans AWAY in the Semi Final. LEN WAREHAM CUP - QUARTER FINAL: Kent Wanderers 8 Sutcliffe Rangers 6 Baldon Sports vs Abbey Wood - To be replayed Kent Wanderers employ the Kevin Keegan style of play as their mentality was to score more goals than their opposition today irrespective of how many goals they conceded. Their tactics worked and so they play host to the winners of the Baldon Sports / Abbey Wood fixture in the Semi Final later in the season. PLUMSTEAD CHALLENGE CUP - ROUND 2 Woolwich (90) 4 Downham (94) 5 AET After an thoroughly entertaining encounter Downham 94 now face FC London Boys in the 3rd round of the PCC. Thames Borough prove too strong for New Life United as they run out 7-1 winners and the same scoreline is recorded in the Crown Alexandra vs Clifton Torpedoes fixture and this takes Clifton Torpedoes to a very respectable 5th place at this time. The defeat for Crown Alexandra sees them replace Eltham Phoenix B at the foot of the league table on goal difference.
