Week 15 Notes Headlines: Fog Devils Go 3-0 FUBAR Breaks Shutout Record Blues Undefeated Streak Hits 17 Blues 9 Warriors 0 - The Blues got off to a great start this past week with a dominating win over the Warriors. Brandon Leet-MacFarlane earned his 3rd shutout of the season to lead the way for the Blues along with Justin McKillop’s hat-trick. Andrew Trecartin and Mike Connor also scored a pair of goals, while Mike Moore and Anthony Crawford added singles. Blues 2 Smokin’ Aces 2 - The Blues battle to a low scoring 2-2 tie against the Smokin’ Aces to keep their streak alive. Brandon-Leet Macfarlane’s and Paul Richard’s goaltending provided limited offense. Jamie Williams and Mike Connor scored the Blues goals, while Tim O’Leary and Chris Benoit scored for the Smokin’ Aces. Unicorns 7 Warriors 4 - The Warriors woes continued as they lose their 2nd game of the day, this time against the Unicorns. Brent McKenna led the way for the Unicorns with 5 goals, while Greg Geurts and spare Darryl Moorcroft added singles. Travis Muxworthy scored a pair of goals for the Warriors, while Jon Loubert and Troy Doyle added singles. Blues 8 Unicorns 6 - The Blues extend their unbeaten streak to 17 games with a win over the Unicorns. Mike Moore led the way for the Blues with a hat-trick, while Jamie Williams and Justin McKillop each scored a pair of goals, and Andrew Trecartin added a single. Brent McKenna led the way for the Unicorns with 4 goals, while Craig Maranda and Phil Cronkite added singles. Smokin’ Aces 3 Warriors 2 - The Smokin’ Aces won a close game against the Warriors who ended the day without a point after going 3-0 last week. Tim O’Leary scored a pair of goals for the Smokin’ Aces, while Tyson Taylor added a single. Jon Loubert and Travis Muxworthy scored the Warriors goals. Smokin’ Aces 7 Unicorns 6 - The Smokin’ Aces win another close game, this time against the Unicorns. Tim O’Leary, Vince MacDonald, and Chris Benoit each scored a pair of goals for the Aces, while Tyson Taylor added a single. Greg Geurts led the way for the Unicorns with a hat-trick, while Brent McKenna added a pair of goals, and spare Darryl Moorcroft added a single. Vipers 13 Collective 1 - The Vipers got off to an good start this past week with an easy win over the Collective. Wyatt Ashworth led the way for the Vipers with 5 goals, while Jim Taylor and Art McCoy had hat-tricks and Darryl Moorcroft added a pair of goals. Mike Luff scored the only goal for the Collective to spoil Tony Bonnar’s shutout bid. FUBAR 10 Collective 0 - The Collective’s rough day continued as they couldn’t solve spare Brandon Leet-MacFarlane’s goaltending. Ironically, Brandon helped FUBAR set a new record for the most shutouts during a regular season and is the only goalie FUBAR has been unable to beat so far. Mike Hossack led the way for FUBAR with 4 goals, while Ian Stevens, Shawn Kane, and James Morrison each added a pair of goals. It was James’ first multi-goal game of the season. FUBAR 5 Vipers 2 - FUBAR kept things rolling with a win over the Vipers. Mike Hossack led the way for FUBAR with a hat-trick, while Ian Stevens and Shawn Kane added singles. Jim Taylor and Darryl Moorcroft scored the Vipers goals. Barrage 3 Shooters 2 - The Barrage won a low-scoring close game against the Shooters. Wayne Helpard scored a pair of goals for the Barrage, while Carl Brown added a single. Jeremy Snow and Mathieu Vaillancourt scored the Shooters goals. Fog Devils 12 Collective 2 - The Fog Devils started their day cruising to an easy win over the struggling Collective. Ian Lapointe and Derek Brown led the way for the Fog Devils each scoring 5 goals, while Collin Sleep added a pair. Rick Bartlett and Rick Haines scored the Collective goals. Fog Devils 4 Shooters 3 - While trying to hang onto the lead, the Shooters allowed the tying goal after the Fog Devils pulled their goalie in the last minute. The Fog Devils then scored in the final seconds for the dramatic win. Ian Lapointe scored a pair of goals for the Fog Devils, while Collin Sleep and Derek Brown added singles. Spare Darryl Moorcroft scored a pair of goals for the Shooters, while Jeremy Snow added a single. Barrage 7 Shooters 3 - The Barrage won the rematch against the Shooters. Wayne Helpard and Rakesh Rajput led the way for the Barrage each with hat-tricks, while Jamie Carson added a single. Spare Darryl Moorcroft scored a hat-trick for the Shooters. Darryl played a total of 8 games this week. Of course, this is a record. Fog Devils 6 Barrage 4 - The Fog Devils go 3-0 this week, finishing with a win over the Barrage. Ian Lapointe led the way for the Fog Devils with a hat-trick, while Collin Sleep scored a pair of goals and Davie Mossman added a single. Marc Guitard led the way for the Barrage with a hat-trick, while Wayne Helpard added a single. This Week’s 3 Stars picked by me. 1st Star – Brandon Leet-MacFarlane – Went 2-0-1 with the Blues allowing 9 goals and earned a shutout. Then did it again, posting the same numbers for FUBAR. 2nd Star – Ian Lapointe – Led the Fog Devils to a 3-0 week, while scoring 10 goals and 13 points this week. 3rd Star – Mike Hossack – Led FUBAR, who were undefeated this week, with 8 goals and 15 points. Honorable Mentions – Brent McKenna scored 11 goals and 15 points for the Unicorns who went 1-2 this week. Mike Sutton won all 3 games with the Fog Devils while allowing 9 goals. Ian Stevens scored 5 goals and 15 points this week. Darryl Moorcroft played 8 games with four different teams this week.
