Week 29: Meal Idea: Cinnamon Rolls: I had the innate pleasure of having extra kids this week. How do you I feed eight kids? Cinnamon rolls and candy. Seriously. I am the worlds worst friend. I feed Yalls kids tons of sugar. I dont want to eat it all so I make my favorites and share! I love Paula Deens easy cinnamon roll recipe. I may double the icing but who doesnt love ooewy gooey dipping breakfast happiness? Dough: 1/4 -ounce package yeast 1/2 cup warm water 1/2 cup scalded milk 1/4 cup sugar 1/3 cup butter or shortening 1 teaspoon salt 1 egg 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour Filling: 1/2 cup melted butter, plus more for pan 3/4 cup sugar, plus more for pan 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon 3/4 cup raisins, walnuts, or pecans, optional Glaze: 4 tablespoons butter 2 cups powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 3 to 6 tablespoons hot water Directions Heat oven to 350 degrees F. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside. In a large bowl mix milk, sugar, melted butter, salt and egg. Add 2 cups of flour and mix until smooth. Add yeast mixture. Mix in remaining flour until dough is easy to handle. Knead dough on lightly floured surface for 5 to 10 minutes. Place in well-greased bowl, cover and let rise until doubled in size, usually 1 to 1 1/2 hours. When doubled in size, punch down dough. Roll out on a floured surface into a 15 by 9-inch rectangle. Spread melted butter all over dough. Mix sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over buttered dough. Sprinkle with walnuts, pecans, or raisins if desired. Beginning at the 15-inch side, role up dough and pinch edge together to seal. Cut into 12 to 15 slices. Coat the bottom of baking pan with butter and sprinkle with sugar. Place cinnamon roll slices close together in the pan and let rise until dough is doubled, about 45 minutes. Bake for about 30 minutes or until nicely browned. Meanwhile, mix butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Add hot water 1 tablespoon at a time until the glaze reaches desired consistency. Spread over slightly cooled rolls. This recipe is one of the simplest ones I follow. The girls even kneaded the dough and rolled them out. Stormie, yep I called you out, okay, I did too, we both ate two and half. I know. Dangerous! What a great way to make everyones tummies happy! Serve with sausage and bacon and you can get them to do any chores you may have!!! Enjoy! I spent the past week realizing that I cant laugh everything off. I cant laugh about the past because some parts of it are so black. However, I am a child of God. I am reborn in my own faith. I am a positive influence with a spotted past. Nothing can change the mistakes and tragedies but the future is clear and un-muddled. If I only change one persons heart then I have fulfilled my destiny. Life is a journey and none of us will get out of it alive. Dont judge others because they sin differently than you. Embrace them without reservations. God is willing to take you right now today, all your baggage, all your insecurities. He takes it all and wipes your slate clean. What a Blessing!~ Organization Tips: Mail Area: So I have been on this cleansing journey of no excuses for over half the year and I still dont have the mail situation under control. Sometimes I open the mail on the way into the house. Sometimes I open it in the kitchen. Sometimes I even open in the bathroom. Which means that I have mail scattered all over the house. Most of the time it is just junk mail, but some important papers are dispersed negligently too. So I know have a organizer. No matter where I open it, it must go straight back to the organizer. Where do you open your important mail? I vow to never miss the registration card again!! FREE SPACE! It is a freeing experience!~ Exercise Idea: 21-day Challenge: I am not a representative for beach-body. I just love the workouts. Anything that you choose to do that is exercise is a positive. How simple yet so massively entertaining. Kids will get a cheap bath and you can have some laughs! Ron, I am challenging you! Get outside and have a blast!
