Week 3, Day 5 Saturday Haad the best sleep Ive had in a while, folks. Niiiiiice! :) Woke up and found Jeanna downstairs with little Claire. Shed finished a lovely little puzzle with Claire. Yep! You read it right! A he couldnt even finish the sentence A piece of the __________, and now shes putting 100-piece puzzle together perfectly! Also: Heard you had a good time last night,honey. Jeanna: Yes. You know, I feel like a got a piece of my brain back last night. See, Jeanna grew up the youngest of seven kids, in a house that by most accounts was quite an active place. I saw her writing ability take a jump after her family gathered in her hospital room, and get so loud they hadda get thrown out by the nurse. :) Lst night, she had a great, great evening with her girlfriends, and it caused another brig jump! She made a list for me, as per the instructions of her speech therapist- Jeannas a list maker, always was Now, it looks like I have gotten family members to help out, a different day each week. Tomorrow, in between catching up on my grading and getting ready to go back to work, Ill be making photocopies of Jeannas worksheets and exercises, enough to make a decent sized file-folder worth of stuff for them to work with. :) Had a great afternoon and evening, JEannas sis and her daughter hanging out and seeing what we do, and even gave me a little John time, during which I…got the shopping done, and went to Barnes & noble for a good half-hour of reading. And it was Stephen King, and so much fun I bought the book- something I rarely do unless its used. :) Got a wonderful dinner after that from a determined former parent, who not only made a heroic effort to find out home in the face of a staunchly malfunctioning GPS, but when we finally connected, boy was it worth it! Every single dinner weve gotten on the meal train was great, and this was specially good! THank you, applesauce! Only minor setback: No Jeanna, honey, you cant pick up Claire and put her bed, honey. Sorry, your OT said… So I took little one upstairs instead. Oh, and I checked the mail today…so many great people with prayers and well-wishes. Today, a wonderful one from the great folks at SJA- thank you SO, SO much! Well, back to watching Flushed Away with the kids..(though I truly DESPISE those creepy little singing slugs). Then the family Rosary, and a night walk around the neighborhood. Were not there yet…but were getting there. THank you, Lord. Thank you so much. JDM
