Week 30: Sydney Hey, I know this is a little weird. I set out to do a simple collage of a surf life saver and things happened... This is based on a 1909 photo of the North Steyne team sent to the second annual gymkhana of the Bondi Surf-Bathers Life-Saving Club. The life savers then had a rather weird costume with undies on the outside. (Anyone else see pictures of these guys up until the 1920s?) The women on the beach, by contrast, seemed to be fully dressed around this time. The ones I saw, anyway... So this is a paper collage, with some digital overlays. (oh, and its in a book of Australian history) I enjoyed myself doing it, and whatever the result, as is often the case with this challenge, it is a great motivator to try something new, that wouldnt otherwise have happened. So thanks again Tania, for getting the ball rolling.... and keeping it rolling!
