Week 41 This week we survived another milestone. Your 22nd birthday. Another first without you physically here. Throughout our journey weve been very lucky to have the support and unconditional love of many. Family and friends; old and new. This week we were blessed to have a wonderful celebration and remembrance of your life. So many that love you and are willing to share that love with us. Dad, Lynsey and her friends, Nat, Penne, uncle John and our sweet, sweet Dallas friends have celebrated your sweet life. You had such an impact on so many. You never had a clue how much your kindness and sweet sprit were making an impression on others. I have dreaded the coming of your birthday for months - once again God has proven to me that ALL IS WELL. Hes shown me that this journey, while never easy, is possible. There are so many that love you beyond measure and are willing to do whatever it takes to help us through our transition into the new normal. This week has also been a special time of reflection for me. Memories of how I held you for your first breaths and how blessed I was to hold you for your last breath as well. Ive finally resolved that the tears may always come and that thank Goodness the memories will never fade. I have finally discovered your smell - the one that reminds me most of you - Pink Chiffon from bath & body. Im learning more each day that it truly is the little things in life that make the greatest memories. Our sweet friends gave me a collage of pictures of you from Camp Moss and a special picture of me and Dad at your brick on the walkway at camp. Your friends posted precious memories of you and sent us sweet messages of encouragement. Carol Cain send a beautiful bouquet of flowers that had some of your favorite colors in it. Weve all enjoyed sharing special Elyssa stories and as our first annual Elyssa Jacobs memorial celebration draws to a close I thank God once again for showing us the way.
