Week 5 Update! We had bright sunshine, hard work, and some fantastic Whip Flips this week. Gattaca Family What was accomplished this week? Drywall was installed, mudded, and painted in the bathroom, dining room, and kitchen. Trim work and flooring was also completed. What will be accomplished next week? There is a bit of drywall mud and painting left. What special tools are needed? Paint supplies The Time Machine Family What was accomplished this week? We repaired several areas of the subfloor in the kitchen and replaced the tile. We installed new baseboard as well. We also installed flashing along the edge of the roof. What will be accomplished next week? Nothing - project is finished! Thunderbirds Family What was accomplished this week? The back half of the roof was finished-- it was sheathed with OSB and covered with asphalt covering. The bathroom floor and walls were reframed. What will be accomplished next week? The bathroom floor and walls will be completed, and a new tub and toilet will be installed. A second crew will remove tin and replace the front half of the roof with asphalt. What special tools are needed? Ladders, circular saws, sawzalls, any special plumbing tools What future projects are there? Drywall in the ceiling must be replaced. Star Trek Family What was accomplished this week? Faux studs and siding were added on the right side of the house. A new window was installed. What will be accomplished next week? The stairs will be made safe and a door will be installed. What special tools are needed? Circular saw Twilight Zone Family What was accomplished this week? The crew completed the mudding and painting of the bedroom and living room walls and added window trim and baseboard. The back bedroom and hallway carpet was removed, and new flooring was added. A gutter was installed along the back of the home. New flashing was installed between two sections of the roof. Holes in the floor were filled. What will be accomplished next week? Nothing--project is complete! Contact Family What was accomplished this week? The existing roof covering, soffit, and fascia on the addition were removed and replaced. A new mulehide roof cover was added over the addition and onto the top of the mobile home. Inside, more drywall was installed in the bedroom. It was mudded and painted. What will be accomplished next week? The laminate flooring will be installed in the bedroom and a small section of painting and trim needs to be completed. What special tools are needed? Saw blade for laminate, paint supplies Caprica Family What was accomplished this week? We constructed new walls around the bedroom and installed sheathing around the home. What will be accomplished next week? We will be siding the exterior and installing drywall on the interior. What special tools are needed? Drywall supplies, ladders, tin snips A Wrinkle in Time Family What was accomplished this week? We drywalled the interior of the entry of the home, installed risers on the stairs, and installed baseboard and trim on the doors and windows. We also braced the overspanned windows. What will be accomplished next week? Nothing - project is complete! Blade Runner Family What was accomplished this week? Drywall was installed, mudded, and painted on the first floor. The upstairs bathroom drywall, paint, and flooring were completed. The outhouse insulation and framing was also completed. What will be accomplished next week? Vinyl composite tile will be installed on the first floor. More drywall will be completed. What special tools are needed? VCT trowels, drywall supplies Signs Family What was accomplished this week? The remainder of the rotted subfloor was removed and replaced with OSB. Floor leveler was added between joints. A section of the leaking roof was sealed and the gutter was modified with holes in it to better drain. What will be accomplished next week? Nothing--project is complete! Cloud Atlas Family What was accomplished this week? The cricket was finished and a mulehide covering was installed on the roof. The existing drywall was removed from the living room and kitchen. The joists in the subfloor were repaired. In addition, the front porch was repaired. What will be accomplished next week? Drywall will be installed, mudded, and painted in the living room and kitchen. The floor covering will be completed. What special tools are needed? Drywall and paint supplies Serenity Family What was accomplished this week? In two days of work, part of the tin and decking was removed from the front half of the roof. Some new joists/rafters and insulation were added. What will be accomplished next week? The tin will continue to be removed and replaced with new rafters and OSB. Drip edge, underlayment, and an asphalt cover will be added. What special tools are needed? Ladders, circular saws
