Week 7 Update: And just like that, the summer is over! A BIG thanks to all the wonderful volunteers that came through the Tri-Cities this summer. We could not have accomplished any of this work without you! You truly were the hands and feet of God this summer and we feel blessed to have met you all. Here are the final updates from week 7. We had 12 crews, 9 from Trinity UMC in Gainesville, Florida and 3 from Unitarian Universalist Church in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, two crews helping the New Build Washington County staff finish some of their projects. BOGO Milkshakes (Trinity UMC Gainesville and Unitarian Universalist of Delaware Co.): Another double crew completed a lot of work this week! Floor insulation, drywall, and one door were installed, vinyl siding was continued, a girder was installed, some roof adjustments were made and a back porch was begun! Call Me Maybe on the Radio (Unitarian Universalist): We finished drywall in the bathroom and the dining room this week! We also did some general maintenance around the outside of the home! Stuck Behind a Tractor (Trinity UMC): The siding is complete!! Our crew finished up with j-channel and siding on the back two gables of the home this week. They also built a small landing off the back door, installed fascia and installed gutters on the left side of the home! Chipotle Grand Opening (Trinity UMC Gainesville and Unitarian Universalist of Delaware Co.): Vinyl siding was finished, fascia and soffit were continued, railings and handrails on the porch and steps were completed, exterior door was installed, and drywall was installed and mudded on the interior! Yard Sale (Trinity UMC): Painting and trim was completed in the back room, and the bathroom is now completely finished as well! New drywall and paint are on the walls and the tile is complete, along with some plumbing adjustments. New tile was also laid in the kitchen! Cows in the Road (Trinity UMC): The wheelchair ramp is officially 100% finished! Zombie Apocalypse (Trinity UMC): We worked on the interior of this home this week, installing insulation and drywall on the ceilings after a very helpful homeowner of another project came and repaired the roof! Regional Coffee Shortage (Trinity UMC): We are nearly finished at this home! Our crew this week replaced and repaired the entire living room floor this week, including new floor joists, sub-floor, and laminate flooring. Two doors were also replaced and drywall and painting was completed in several rooms.
