Week ahead - June 20, 2013 from weatheronline.co.uk/ Unsettled weekend Better next week Issued: 0900hrs Thursday 20th June 2013 Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling A wet and windy weekend, but then mainly dry and sunny next week Disturbed through this weekend as a deep area of low pressure passes through the UK and Ireland taking rain and showers with it. As this clears into the North Sea next week pressure will be building and this should bring more settled weather for next week. Sunday 23/6/13 Low pressure will be to the east of Scotland through Sunday. This brings another unsettled day for most of the UK and Ireland. Cloud and rain through Scotland and into northern England, turning more showery in northern England in the afternoon. Heavy showers elsewhere and windy too. The best sunshine in the afternoon over southern England and southern Ireland. Tops near 10 to 17C. Monday 24/6/13 The area of low pressure is going to be in the North Sea on Monday. The flow stays northerly bringing a fair amount of cloud and showers. Most of the showers affecting more northern and eastern areas where some could be heavy. Probably brighter to the west with sunny spells developing here and only a few showers coming through. Tops at 12 to 17C. Tuesday 25/6/13 High pressure building through Ireland and the west of the UK on Tuesday. Lower pressure to the east. Northern winds will be bringing showers to northern and eastern areas, mostly on coasts. To the west and south the day will be brighter with sunny spells. Highs at 14 to 21C. Wednesday 26/6/13 High pressure is expected to be centred over southern Ireland on Wednesday. This brings lots of dry weather for much of the UK with good spells of sunshine, the best in the south. Tops at 14 to 21C. Thursday 27/6/13 A ridge of high pressure remains through the country during Thursday. This is likely to be bringing another dry day with good spells of sunshine. A front may bring some rain into Ireland and western Scotland later. Highs at 15 to 22C. Friday 28/6/13 Pressure probably stays fairly high across southern England on Friday and this brings another dry day with good spells of sunshine. There is the chance of some cloud and spots of rain affecting Scotland and the west and north of Ireland. Tops at 24C in the sunshine over southern England, 17C in northern Scotland.
