Week beginning 19th October 2014 TODAY’S NOTICES 1. FUND RAISING: Are you thinking of what to buy for Christmas gifts? We have just the thing! On sale/taking orders: colourful Ceramic Mugs, black & white printed Tea Towels and cream & black Cloth Bags: all with pictures of Larbert East Church. If you would like to purchase any of these items please see Irene Railton in the Large Hall after the service. All monies raised will go to Larbert East Church Funds. 2. LARBERT CHURCHES YOUTH TRUST new part-time Schools Worker Jack Thomson takes up his post tomorrow alongside our full-time Schools Worker Mike Glass. Please remember both Mike and Jack in your prayers. 3. NEWS OF THE PRESBYTERY PLAN FOR THE LARBERT AREA CHURCHES: Larbert Old and Larbert West congregations have been informed that their respective Kirk Sessions have agreed to a union. Once agreed by both Presbytery and The Ministries Council, the next few months will be used to work out various issues including the use of Church buildings, so all details can be finalised by September 2015. After that, a new minister can be called. 4. FALKIRK FOODBANK: Most needed items are: UHT and dried milk; cartons of juice (not needing kept cool); tinned vegetables, meat, fish and fruit; biscuits and snacks. The boxes are in the vestibule and at the door to the Hall. 5. GIFT AID ENVELOPES are in the Vestibule or on the pews. Visitors wishing us to reclaim tax on donations made, please fill in your details on the envelope. NOTICES FOR THIS WEEK 6. WOMEN’S GROUP meets on Tuesday 21st October at 7.30pm. Our topic is ‘Stories from the Court’. All ladies welcome. 7. DISCUSSION GROUPS: The Wednesday Afternoon Group has its 3rd meeting this Wednesday, 22nd October at 2pm in the Small Hall. The Wednesday Evening Group meets a week on Wednesday 29th October in the Small Hall at 7.30pm. 8. WEEKDAY WORSHIP this Thursday 23rd October at 11.15am will be led by Rev Andrew Randall from Grace Church Larbert. This short 25 minute service is ideal for those who struggle to get to Church on Sunday mornings. ADVANCE NOTICES: 9. NEXT SUNDAY’S SERVICE: Next Sunday the Service at 10.30am will be led once again by our former student/Reader-in-training Mrs Isabelle McMillan. Please do come to welcome Isabelle to Larbert East. The Young Church meets as usual (see regular notices on our webpage larberteastchurch/www/index.php/parish-news). There will be tea/coffee after the service when the Traidcraft Stall will also be available. Please join us in worship next Sunday. N.B. The Clocks go back one hour next Sunday!!!!
