Week beginning 25th May 2014 TODAY’S NOTICES 1. CHRISTIAN AID: If you still have Christian Aid Gift Envelopes to hand in, please put them in the offering plate along with your church offering. Thank you to all members and friends who supported the Coffee Morning and to everyone who worked hard on the day. We also thank you for the generous donations of cakes and items for the stalls. The total raised was £1137. 2. THE FIRST TRAINING SESSION for those who will be joining Larbert East Kirk Session is this afternoon at 3pm in the Small Hall (please note the slightly later time). 3. FALKIRK FOODBANK: Toiletries and cleaning materials are needed as they have lots of soup and beans. The boxes are in the vestibule and at the door to the hall. 4. GIFT AID ENVELOPES are in the Vestibule or on the pews. Visitors wishing us to reclaim tax on donations made, please fill in your details on the envelope. NOTICES FOR THE COMING WEEK 5. THE DISCUSSION GROUPS discuss the last ‘I am’ saying of Jesus. The North Broomage Group meets tomorrow Monday 26th May at 36 Aitchison Drive at 7.30pm. 6. LARBERT CHURCHES YOUTH TRUST AGM will be held this Tuesday 27th May in Larbert Old Church at 7.30pm. All welcome :) 7. STENHOUSEMUIR PRIMARY MONTHLY COFFEE MORNING is this Thursday 29th May in the Small Hall from 10.45-11.15am (just before Weekday Worship) in the Small Hall. Entry is by donation; all proceeds to school funds. All welcome. 8. WEEKDAY WORSHIP is this Thursday 29th May at 11.15am when Rhona McDonald will take the service. The shorter service is ideal for those who, for various reasons, can’t come on Sundays. You’ll receive a warm welcome. ADVANCE NOTICES: 9. FLOWER CALENDAR FOR 1st June: Ian and Janette Webster and the late Margaret Whitelaw 10. AN EVENING WITH ERNIE HAASE plus Signature Sound takes place in the Dobbie Hall on Friday 6th June 2014 at 7.00pm. Tickets, £20 are available from Dr Jey Selwyn or his family. Don’t miss this internationally acclaimed group! 11. PENTECOST SUNDAY is 8th June this year not 25th May as in Eastwords. NEXT SUNDAY’S SERVICES – COMMUNION Next Sunday we celebrate Communion. The Morning Service will be our annual Family Communion at 10.30am. The service will be led by Melville and Isabelle with the Young Church taking part when we continue the theme, ‘Unlikely Leaders’. The Young Church will meet as usual (see Regular Notices on our webpage larberteastchurch/www/index.php/parish-news). There will be tea/coffee after the service when the Traidcraft Stall will also be available. The Afternoon Communion will be at 2.30pm, led by Melville and Isabelle, when we conclude the theme ‘Unlikely Leaders’. There will be tea/coffee and time to chat in the Hall after the service. Next Sunday will be Isabelle’s last Sunday with us :( Please come to say farewell to her. Please join us in worship at both services next Sunday.
