Week beginning 6th June 2014 TODAY’S NOTICES 1. FORTH ROAD BRIDGE WALK: The total raised from the Bridge Walk is £1589. Thank you to all who took part and all those who sponsored them. 2. THE AFTERNOON COMMUNION is today at 2.30pm, led by Melville and Isabelle, when we conclude the theme, ‘Unusual Leaders’. As this will be Isabelle’s last service with us, there is a special welcome to everyone to join us for the service, and for tea/coffee and biscuits in the Hall so you can say goodbye. 3. THE RETIRING OFFERING after both services today is for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young). Apologies for forgetting to put in this notice last week. If you would like to contribute but didn’t know to bring your offering with you, please bring it next week. 4. LCYT GIFT AID FORMS: Following the visit of LCYT Schools Worker Mike Glass last week, a number of people ask about Gift Aid and Standing Order forms. You can collect them from the Vestibule Table or from the Traidcraft Stall after the service. 5. FALKIRK FOODBANK: Toiletries and cleaning materials are needed as they have lots of soup and beans. The boxes are in the vestibule and at the door to the hall. 6. GIFT AID ENVELOPES are in the Vestibule or on the pews. Visitors wishing us to reclaim tax on donations made, please fill in your details on the envelope. NOTICES FOR THE COMING WEEK 7. THE DISCUSSION GROUPS meet this week as follows: Wednesday Group on 4th June at 2pm at 22 New Carron Court Carron Thursday Group on 5th June at 7.30pm at 575 Main Street Stenhousemuir. As these 2 groups have completed the ‘I am’ saying of Jesus, they will discuss this afternoon’s sermon. 8. WEEKDAY WORSHIP is this Thursday 5th June at 11.15am when Melville will take the service. The shorter service is ideal for those who, for various reasons, can’t come on Sundays. As this is the last Weekday Worship until September, we will have tea/coffee and goodies at the close of the service. Please join us for a chat. 9. AN EVENING WITH ERNIE HAASE plus Signature Sound takes place in the Dobbie Hall on Friday 6th June 2014 at 7.00pm. Tickets, £20 are available from Sheena McGregor after the service. Don’t miss this internationally acclaimed group! 10. THE MONTHLY PRAYER BREAKFAST in support of the work of LCYT Schools Worker Mike Glass is on Saturday 7th June from 9-10am in Falkirk Free Church. A DATE FOR YOUR DIARY: As part of the Deacons’ Court ‘Year of the Talents’ there will be Cream Teas on Saturday 21st June from 10am-12 noon in the Church Hall. More details next week. NEXT SUNDAY’S SERVICE – PENTECOST SUNDAY AND CRADLE ROLL Next Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. The Morning Service at 10.30am will be led by Melville when we begin a new theme, ‘Light for Life’. At the end of the service, we will also welcome back the children who have been baptised during the last year to the annual Cradle Roll. The Young Church will meet as usual (see Regular Notices on our webpage larberteastchurch/www/index.php/parish-news). There will be tea/coffee after the service when the Traidcraft Stall will also be available. Please join us in worship next Sunday.
