Milestone Contractors, the INDOT contractor for the $2.1 million project, plans to close the left lane of westbound I-70 approaching Centerville Road (Exit 145) tonight from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Friday. This weekend, Milestone plans to close the right lane of eastbound I-70 between Centerville Road (Exit 145) and U.S. 35/Williamsburg Pike (Exit 149) beginning Friday at 9 p.m. to remove and replace areas of damaged pavement. This work will also require closing the eastbound I-70 Exit 149A ramp to southbound Williamsburg Pike. These restrictions are expected to remain in place until Monday at 6 a.m. to allow new concrete adequate time to cure. This work could be postponed in the event of inclement weather. Overnight and weekend I-70 lane restrictions should be expected as crews progress with pavement repairs in the Centerville and Richmond areas. Recurring overnight and weekend restrictions on I-70 should also be expected in Henry County and Hancock County. Drivers are advised to practice safe habits – especially in highway work zones. Follow work zone speed limits, maintain safe distances from other vehicles, and avoid all distractions.
