Weekend Roundup, January 27 Edition What a strange weekend. We started out with some pretty descent temperatures, then the “Polar Vortex” dropped down and put us in the deep freeze late Sunday. It appears that we missed the worst of the snow and blizzard conditions. Sorry for those of you who had to travel, especially in eastern Iowa. We also kept a little busier than usual. The warmer weather probably had something to do with it. We also worked on our traffic enforcement project looking for intoxicated drivers, speeders, and seat belt usage. We should have some numbers in the next few days on the project. We arrested a total of 11 individuals this weekend for the following 14 charges: OWI – 3 Public Intoxication – 3 Possession of a controlled substance – 2 Possession of drug paraphernalia – 2 Aggravated Domestic Abuse Assault – 1 Disruption of Emergency Communications - 1 Simple Assault – 1 Criminal Mischief 4th – 1 In addition, we responded to complaints of loud parties, a dozen or better. Let’s all hope things warm up a bit this week.
