Weekend Update: Tonight we sit here in front of the computer - TopicsExpress

Weekend Update: Tonight we sit here in front of the computer watching the likes and the numbers on the benefit auction page...to say we are in shock and awe...is a complete understatement. Once again, we find ourselves at a complete loss for words for those that continue to lift our family up for this unexpected, unfamiliar circumstance. Although we try not to question what is happening or why it is happening, we know that Gods hand is on all of this and that doesnt bring a ? it brings an !. Does that mean the we have all of our lifes problems solved...no way, but it does mean that each of you help to ease our uncertainties. The last several weeks have been filled with so many gifts of abounding friendship and love. Just before the auction started tonight, I walked to the mailbox because I had forgotten to get the mail yesterday. As I opened I found one of those gifts that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. A dear friend from church and an amazingly strong lady sent us a journal. Inside the journal was a note-- she began a battle with cancer several years ago and through it all she began writing scriptures, poems and sayings that got her through each and every day. She took the time to rewrite her ENTIRE journal, so that we would have a copy to help us through. What perfect timing...once again I wanted to write about the wonderful people that surround us and I had this very personal piece to use as my guide--thank you, Martha Jordan (please continue to keep this sweet lady in your prayers--she is in ours)! The scripture of II Corinthians 1:5-7 jumped out immediately. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort - we get a full measure of that, too. When we suffer for Jesus, it works out for your healing and salvation. If we are treated well, given a helping hand and encouraging word, that also works to your benefit, spurring you on, face forward, unflinching. Your hard times are also our hard times. When we see that youre just as willing to endure the hard times as to enjoy the good times, we know youre going to make it, no doubt about it. Throughout this, we have never felt alone! We have been embraced beyond compare. We feel that each of you have shared such an important part of this journey with us...taking some of our burden and pain away. God has put each of you into our life for a reason. You have shared in every emotion and experience. You reassure us, comfort us and love us. THANK YOU for that! And just so you know God recognizes your good. As for the donations and efforts for this auction, we express our gratitude with complete humbleness and humility. I know I have said it before, but we can never say thank you enough to those who have donated, those who have bidded, those who have ran to pick of items (i.e. Randy) and of course those who put their blood sweat and tears into this. Jamie Cornett Carrier and Eddie are two of the most gracious, wonderful people...we have laughed with them, we know have cried with them (maybe not in person, but through plenty of texts now) and we have always shared the LOVE OF GOD. We are completely indebted to them for their friendship (well--that is a pretty easy thing to be indebted to them for because they are so awesome). We know how hard they have worked, yet they will never admit it. But one thing is for sure...we KNOW HOW MUCH WE LOVE THEM AND APPRECIATE THEM! And I dont want to leave out all those others that have and are still doing other fundraisers....each of you hold a very special place in our hearts and have put so much time and energy into protecting us (again, I live in fear that I can never say thank you enough). Okay...even though I have a lot more to say--Ill stop because somehow my post keep getting longer and longer. Josh has had a wonderful weekend. He spent over an hour outside yesterday in the garage and enjoyed the weather. He did have some of his twitchy moments yesterday but as he says mind over matter and he works through them. He also had a lot of laughs with some wonderful friends which was funny to watch because Josh cant laugh to hard or it hurts so I think we laughed harder at him trying to hold back some of his belly laughs--moments to cherish! Today, he made another amazing step--he shaved himself. Again, not an easy task to do while laying flat on a bed and trying not to move a muscle...but HE DID IT (both his mom and I cheered him on every step of the way)! Pretty active weekend, we see that improve each and everyday. We hope everyone stayed safe with the expectant storms (and for those that are experiencing damage and tragedy...we pray for you).
