Designed for parents, teachers, and administrators, the session features key strategies for effectively implementing the CCSS-M. ________________________________________ Featured Resource Spotlight on the Common Core State Standards—What Do Parents Need to Know? What do parents need to know about the Common Core State Standards (CCSS)? How will the standards affect teaching and assessing mathematics and English language arts? What are the benefits, and what can parents do to prepare for the CCSS? View the new site at schoolturnaroundsupport.org. ________________________________________ The Journeys Project — Upcoming Webinar Journey to School Improvement: The Personalized Mastery Approach Wednesday, March 19, 2:00pm EST/11:00am PST There is growing interest in personalized and performance-based approaches to support student learning. Personalized Mastery (also known as competency-based learning) is one such approach, focusing on students moving through content at their own learning pace. Learn about early challenges in implementing Personalized Mastery as a school improvement strategy in a small-town middle school with a large achievement gap. School, district, and state staff will share the steps taken on their initial journey to Personalized Mastery. Topics include Personalized Mastery as a possible school improvement strategy and an overview of the hopes and challenges of early implementation stages.
