Weekly Mindfulness Activity:cloudsinwater.org/mindfulness/ PAUSE BEFORE SPEAKING Developing right speech Developing right speech takes a lot of practice. So this week our mindfulness task is to pause and breathe before we speak. While breathing we can consider if what we want to say is true, beneficial, and welcome. We can notice if our mind state is calm and clear or not. For those of us whose habit is to speak without thinking, this task will be challenging. So we can do our best to use kind and beneficial inner speech to support ourselves. For those of us whose habit is not speaking, try noticing what mind states give rise to not speaking and consider if speaking might be beneficial. Reminding Yourself: Post notes: “Pause before speaking” and try wearing a string bracelet or some other visible reminder on your person. May you know ease and joy this week, Kyoku Tracey Walen
