Weekly Weather Outlook Issued at: 5:00 p.m. 01 December 2014 Valid until: 5:00 p.m. 08 December 2014 The Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains over cagayan valley and over the provinces of apayao and ilocos norte. Meanwhile, Metro Manila , CALABARZON and Aurora will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. This weather scenario will persist until Thursday (December 04). Meanwhile, a Tropical Cyclone outside the philippine area of responsibility (PAR), of storm intensity and with international name HAGUPIT, was estimated at 3,000 km east southeast of southern Mindanao. It is still too far to affect any part of the country, and will enter the eastern border of the PARin between Thursday afternoon to Friday morning. By Friday (December 05), the Amihan will continue to bring light rains over cagayan valley and over the provinces of Apayao and Ilocos Norte. The outer cloud bands of the Tropical Cyclone on the other hand, will bring cloudy skies and light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region and over the province of Quezon including Polillo Islands. Metro Manila and the rest of the archipelago will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. By Saturday and Sunday (December 06 & 07), the Tropical Cyclone which is expected to move west northwest slowly over the Philippine Sea, will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Visayas, Mindanao and over Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon. Cagayan Valley will experience light rains while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. By Monday (December 08), the Tropical Cyclone is expected to slowly move north over the Philippine Sea. Its outer cloud bands will bring cloudy skies and light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region and Central and Eastern Visayas. Meanwhile, the Amihan will continue to affect Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Central and Southern Luzon, bringing light rains over the aforementioned areas. The Northeast Monsoon or Amihan is expected to persist and affect Northern Luzon and portions of Central and Southern Luzon throughout the outlook period. Sea conditions over the said areas will be rough to very rough. The Tropical Cyclone on the other hand, is expected to intensify further. Hence, the disaster risk reduction management council concerned and the general public are advised to continue monitoring for updates of this weather disturbance to be issued by PAGASA beginning this afternoon. This outlook will be updated as soon as significant changes in the weather pattern occurs.
