Weekly update!! Where does the time go? Its already the last week of November and exactly one week until we celebrate Esthers online anniversary. Believe it or not, its only been 51 weeks to the day since Esther the Wonder Pig became a Facebook page. In the past twelve months we went from two totally normal guys with a not so normal pet, to two totally normal guys with a not so normal pet that got handed a once in a lifetime opportunity. Weve shown you what life is like with Esther as a housemate. Weve shown you her outrageous personality and that infectious smile, but you changed our lives forever taking us from a tiny house in the suburbs where we lived in hiding with our special girl, to a nearly 50 acre farm just outside the city where we can take what weve come to know as the Esther effect to a whole new level with Happily Ever Esther Farm Sanctuary. This week we took in our first rescues at the farm, BJ and Escalade. Escalade is terrified of men due to his first home but in only three days he has allowed us both to hand feed, and even pet his face. Everyday hes coming closer and slowly building the trust he had lost. Its been an incredible experience and we cant wait to get to know him. BJ is a donkey and Escalades BFF. Hes a sweetheart allowing us to lead him around and coming to say hello when we approach the fence. Theyre already showing amazing progress since arriving earlier this week so come have a look at our sanctuary page and get to know them too. On another happy note, we also managed to prepare another stall this week making us ready for the next new resident. We dont know who it will be yet, but whoever it is will be welcomed home with one arms and we cant wait to meet him/her. The barn is coming back to life and its amazing. Elsewhere on the farm, we picked up our first piece of farm equipment today with a Kawasaki Mule its basically a 4-wheeler that seats two, and has a dumping bed in the back for tools etc. it has already made getting around to do work on fences etc. a hundred time easier than it was before. We are also finally feeling at home and settled in our new spaces. The office is up and running at full speed.....or as close to full speed as we can get without Internet access. I think the only ones who enjoy our current set-up is the cell phone provider weve tethered our phones to so we can get online and keep this ship sailing. It has made for a really challenging few weeks but, our new internet tower is up and with any luck well be connected next week. Its the lack of Internet and network access that is resulting in missing watermarks, and slightly fewer posts than normal. We hope to be 100% back to normal very soon and had no idea getting suitable Internet access would be such a pain, live and learn I suppose. The Esther Store is running like a well oiled machine too with orders being processed and shipped faster than weve ever been able to before. Its amazing what can happen when you take control and set your mind to something. If you havent seen it yet come have a look on our website, youll love our expanded product line and all proceeds go straight to the farm helping us get projects done better and faster. With the holidays quickly approaching, nows the perfect time to pop by and shop for that special someone. Speaking of the holidays, lets be honest and say one of the best parts of all these festive parties is the food. Come check out Esthers Kitchen and see some amazing, super simple, Esther Approved meals and apps. Holiday snacking never looked or tasted so good. And if youre looking for a New Years resolution, why not start with your diet and let Esther show you how. For you, the environment, and the animals. You can do it. And that pretty much sums it up. Stay tuned over the next couple weeks as we have one more major announcement up our sleeves. Well keep you all posted as soon as possible. Have a happy Thursday everyone. Sending our love and best wishes, Steve, Derek and Esther. P.S. Wishing a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving to all of our American friends. Please feel free to send your leftovers to the farm. : ) xoxox.
