Weeks Reflexion. Thank you to God for everything and all of these people in my life: my parents, my kids, all of my family, friends, exs, my boyfriend, clients, assistants, former stand up paddleboard and SUP Surf and Surf friends, coaches and acquaintances for supporting me and/or believing in me. This week was the highlight of my season spending dusk til dawn in the waves, my favorite place to be. From Thursday until today, most of the days I wasnt home all day and ended up coming home with 3 wet bathing suits, a wet wetsuit (lol), a wet towel and lots of sand. I brought home with me the image of smiling faces of those who took their first wave with me in their stand up paddleboarding lesson or conquered their fear that they could not get up and stand up and paddle. And on my time off, I saw more smiling faces of old friends and of former clients who learned to SUP Surf from me last year. Aside from all of these highlights of making smiling faces teaching them how to surf on a stand up paddleboard, I attended the Eastern Surfing Associations Southern New England division surf & sup surf competition in Rhode Island and hold the title as reigning champ in the SUP Surf Womens division only because YOU didnt come and give me a run for my money. Yes you women beginners whom I taught! Speaking of money, I told my kids about the contest and they asked, Did you win money? I said no. They werent very impressed that I got out there in the stormy seas to compete. People who dont surf wouldnt understand. lol. Its not about the money. Its about taking taking on a challenge and following through, but primarily being passionate about anything you do in life. Its not about the competition, because even if you looked at those unfavorable conditions and went out and did it with no one even watching you, its still a fulfilling experience. For instance, I never ever would have gone out in stormy seas like that on a normal day, but because I drove 2 hours down there and felt an obligation to myself to do so, I got out there and conquered something but enjoyed it passionately. And I actually liked those conditions and might go out in them again. I urge all women who have taken even one wave with me or otherwise to join me next time please! I invite all men as well! It is a laid back group and you would not feel uncomfortable at any level. Anyway, thank you to all of you who touched my life this past week and helped me reach my goal of bringing smiles to the world or bringing a smile to my face by being so warm and inviting (if I missed you, it doesnt mean I dont love you.
