Weight Gain Epiphany, read carefully: Over weight people are not getting fat because they are overeating; they are over eating because they are getting fat. Fat accumulation, weight gain, is not due to an over abundance of calories, it is due to a hormonal trigger to store fat. As long as that trigger to store fat is being activated the body will store nutrients as fat even at the expense of nursing itself, hence driving hunger, cravings, killing will power, and leading people to eat more......only to store more fat and feed that viscous cycle. Calorie restrictive diets and cardio exercise programs can not work in this scenario. Even if some weight is initially lost it WILL come back plus 40% on average as fat. What you are seeing in this deceptive weight loss is the downward swing of the yo-yo dieting effect....so although it is down, it will go up, that is how yo-yos work, hence the name. To break this cycle, and yes you can break it, you must approach it from a hormonal/neurotransmitter point of view. You can not loose weight to get healthy, you must get healthy to loose weight. Insulin and growth hormone are 2 of the biggest players. When you do heal up this issue and balance out your hormonal response and neurotransmitter synergy, not only will you start to loose weight but hunger pains, cravings, and mood swings will all improve. Will power will not be needed because you will have broken the chains of toxic hunger and hormonal/emotional eating. This my friend is freeing! Cut the carbs, up the good fats, stop snacking, and when you exercise think intensity not duration (MaxT3) and you will be on your way! Dr. Pratt
