As sort of a precaution, I carefully ask for open minds even if I already knew you guys are wise readers. Heres how it went - I had lunch @ the cafeteria with my 5th-yr. friends. And there were these 2 engg. geniuses beside us. I assume they were 2nd-yr. neophytes since they were yelling about integral calculus. I dont usually mind other peoples business, but, cmon! I aint no saint! One of the two started fanboy talks when, I guess, he noticed me wearing a CMU shirt. With his loud voice, he highlighted some people he knew who transferred to CMU after a tortuous semester, or worst, getting culled. Didto man ga-skwela ang mga bagsak sa MUST, he said it that way. KNOCK IT! I hope youre reading this now. (& I hope not a single CMUan could read this, SHAMEFUL!) After such, the transient state was IRRITATING! Thank God I didnt got the chance to react. Now, I want to share some facts: I asked my good friend google & he led me to certain blogs, PRC & CHED-certified posts, all confirmed CMU as a consistent university in the top 20 chart nationwide, up until this year. Theyre a CE & ME powerhouse, not to mention DVM, Accty. & Aggies. Along the list, XUs also in place, which I, personally, wont doubt since they waxed it hot during our annual regional quiz show. Im pretty sure some readers arent that fascinated. Thats good! Meum et tuum, we have our own platform. MUSTs still an engineering powerhouse, err.. agree?? Nevertheless, this is an exclusive wake-up call. At least, let us try to be tactful, in this way we can show others that were well-educated. Nothings wrong about feeling good with ourselves as MUSTeans. But with this pride comes a challenge. The general notion, as of my observation, is that our school is known for its legacy of producing the best engineers in CdeO. With this thought, we should prove it through performance! not the other way around! Enough of those irksome fooling we get on baseless talks which mostly come from newcomers! It isnt about CEA shirts! for GoDs sake! Its not even about fairly-looking TORs. Its about attitude! Bottomline, the sole determinant is the Board Exam. by: Ethan ----- ~tsokolatee~
