Weird, dont you think? Here I am posting an article telling us the negative affects of social media - and I am writing on a social media page!! The fact of the matter is though - personally I thoroughly dislike social media and how it literally hooks so many people into a massive grip that is not easily broken away from - but what better place to bring attention to the seriousness of the situation than by using the very source of this darkness as a point of contact ... at least many people will see and hopefully read! YES - there used to be a great many other aspects of life that people found enjoyable, but these days there are far too many people who would go into cold turkey if their phone or device was removed from them for any length of time. From our point of view we are stuck to the computers for more hours than we would prefer, but the plus side from our perspective is that the internet has enabled us to operate a business and yet live in a rural situation - so the advantages definitely outweigh the disadvantages for us. As regards phones and social media though - that brings in a whole new perspective. We run a Facebook page as a means of keeping in touch with our clients, rather than sending out copious newsletters.
