Weird things that happen: a young mom gets stuck in the rain with her child and stops in the cafe to ask the owner if she can have a plastic bag to put over the stroller until she gets home. Mom has an umbrella herself and baby is getting soaked. She shouts into the cafe owner several times before he answers her. She stands there demanding the bag, all the while, she could bring her child in from the rain while shes waiting, but does not. I offer her my own umbrella to place over the stroller if she wants. Not most feasible option, but its something. She looks at me, then continues yelling to the shop owner. An older white woman sitting right in front of me begins to fret. She comes up to me and says, How about I give you five dollars and you give her your umbrella? I look at her, huh? She repeats How about I give you five dollars and you give her your umbrella? I still dont get it and she raises her voice, Theres a woman in need! Me: Maam, I dont need your money. She can have my umbrella for free but she wont take it. You can give her the money if you want, thats your choice. She stares at me dumbfounded. I take another bite of my bagell. wtf Oakland. Its just rain. Dont take the babies out unprepared and PLS dont try and pay me to help someone who dont want it. #rantover
