October 18 and 19 at Global View SATURDAY at 1 OCLOCK PM: Indonesian Textiles; a audio-visual and hands-on talk (presented by Marion Nelson and Corinne Lyon) of acclaimed Indonesian textiles, some very old, ranging in age from 100 years to contemporary - examples of ikat, batik and supplementary weaving - influences of India, China, Arabia will be traced in the motifs and the significance of textiles in ritual use will be a major emphasis of the talk. SUNDAY from 12-2 OCLOCK PM: Indonesian Food (veg and non-veg), catered by Bandung Restaurant of Madison. SUNDAY at 2 OCLOCK PM: Indonesian dancers perform Global View is filled with exquisite items from Indonesia. Treasures from Marions winter 2014 trip arrived only in mid-August.
