Welcome Families and Friends of Alpha Company Class Graduating December 12, 2013 My name is Sarah Marshall. My husband, CPT Christopher Marshall is the Company Commander for your SITs (Soldiers in training). I am the administrator for this page. We are about to go on a long journey together. Think of me as your tour guide. I am here to answer your questions and put out as many updates and photos as possible. I would recommend you read all the information in the NOTES section. There is an abundance of information for you. A few rules we have on this page: 1. There is NO TAGGING OR USE OF SOLDIERS NAMES IN ANY POST. While they are here they are known as a RN(Roster Number) or SIT (Soldier in Training). Your Soldier will write you a letter within 72 hours of being in the Company. He will include his mailing address and his RN (Roster Number). Using names of any sort i.e.: first, last or nickname will not be tolerated and will be deleted. It is a security violation. It can lead to you being banned from this page. It is very important that you share that with family and friends of your SIT who want to use this page as well. 2. We cannot get personal messages to your SIT. If you have an emergency, such as a death in the family, notify the Red Cross (contact information is in the notes section). They will send a message to the Commander and he will notify your SIT. 3. Be respectful and kind to everyone on this page. We do not tolerate negative or disrespectful comments about the Cadre, Commander, Army or any of our SITS. Any remarks of this nature will lead to you being banned. 4. While we encourage you to ask questions, we will only be able to answer in generalities. We will not give specific information on your Soldier. I would encourage you to read ALL the notes in the NOTES section. Most questions will be answered there. Also check the comments of others. More than likely someone else has already asked your question and it has been answered. If the page gets bogged down with questions I run out of time to add updates and photos of the Soldiers. I would also encourage you all to talk to each other. You are all going through the same situation and can draw support from each other. Each cycle many families make lifelong friends through this page. I will be here to answer your questions and address your concerns as well. I was raised in a military family; my father was an officer in the Army. I myself was a Medic in the Army. Now I am a military wife. I do understand what you are going through as well as your Soldier. I will tell you the Drill Sergeants, Commander and staff will not ask your Soldiers to do anything they have not done or are not willing to do. Your Soldiers have the best Cadre. They are in good hands. I will tell you straight off, it will take a while for your Soldier’s mail to catch up to him. Sometimes it takes 3-4 weeks. I understand this is extremely frustrating for you. Thousands of Soldiers go through BCT (Basic Combat Training) and OSUT (One Station Unit Training) each month. It takes time for the Post Office to process each of the new Soldiers. The Drill Sergeants sort and distribute the mail that is received the same day. The Drill Sergeants DO NOT under any circumstance PREVENT Soldiers from receiving their mail. This is even true when the Soldiers are doing their field exercises. All mail is opened in front of the DSs. In the Notes section is the information regarding how to address mail to your SIT. Please follow the instructions so we can make it easier and faster for the DS (Drill Sergeants) to distribute the mail to the SITs in a timely manner. There is also a list of what the Soldiers are allowed to have. Please abide by that list. There is no point in sending something that your Soldier will have to have locked away until Graduation. I will do my very best to answer all of your questions. The next 14 weeks will be hard for you and your Soldiers. I hope this page helps bring you some comfort when you see all the accomplishments your Soldier is making. Every Sunday I will post an itinerary of the events for the upcoming week. I will try very hard to explain Army lingo. Let the adventure begin! ROCK FORCE, AVENGERS! Sarah
