Welcome Iowan Reptile Lovers! Please take a moment to read over our rules and be sure to Like them. Anyone who has not read the rules (and agreed to follow them by liking this post) will be removed from this group. We are glad you have come to our page. This page is for all reptile lovers in Iowa and their scaly kids. We have some simple rules and if everyone follows them, everything should stay happy and positive. 1. No blocking administrators – This will result in immediate banning from the group 2. English only Please and thanks 3. We are not here to ‘make money’ on our reptiles. If you have a Banana clown ball python and want to sell for $300, GO TO CRAIGSLIST. This is not the page to try to sell money makers on. Rules for pricing and rehoming animals are as follows: a. No selling of sick or malnourished animals. Please contact Backwoods Moon Shiner, Sarah Siperstein, or myself to take these animals in so they can received the care needed. b. Adoption or rehoming fees are ok, as long as they are not ridiculous. $50 for any reptile is more than enough of a fee for just the reptile. If that reptile comes with a full set up, no more than $1 per gallon/square foot –whichever is larger – of terrarium/aquarium you are sending with. c. Use common sense when posting reptile equipment. If you wouldn’t pay your price for that item, no one else will. d. Original rehoming/adoption posts will have all of the following on the very first post or will not be allowed: i. PICTURES MUST ACCOMPANY POSTS. Pictures of your reptile from more than one angle. Pictures of set up they will come with are also a must (if applicable) ii. Location of poster iii. Where, or how far, or if you are willing to meet iv. Animal species with any specifics (age, overall health, last vet visit, etc.) v. What the reptile comes with (cage specs, food, filters, lights, etc.) vi. PRICE (see rule 2 please) – This is the BIG one. If you do not have a price in the original post, it will not make it to the page!!!! 4. Keep your comments positive and helpful. Also, stay on topic. Don’t offer opinions that are not asked for – One warning (through Private Message) and then you are out. 5. No swearing, bigotry, racism, or derogatory remarks – We admins have kids and other people around that could be reading over our shoulders. 6. Share your reptiles/amphibians any day of the week. 7. Friday’s will be Freaky Friday where you can share your mammals or other pets 8. Reptile related pages and articles are always welcome to be shared. No sharing of any other kind of pages at any time
