Welcome friends, On todays installment of how we can have a better world. I am going to tackle wind turbines tho this is a small contribution So I will also include a design for another style turbine blade for use in extreme high winds areas such as they face in Alaska near the arctic circle. Now we have been using the wind as a power source for many moons. And in a sort we hit a wall, because, when the winds pick up we have to turn off the generators and lock them down to keep them safe. Well that means loss of possible energy gain. Well I am all about getting the most out of everything. My solution is some what simple. If you had installed the generator on to a few rotors with a braking system. When the winds picked up, You could release the brake and the motor would spin freely thus lessening the amount the blades are turning allowing the power to be able to continue to be produced adding to the sum total of energy output. In turn more available energy at no additional cost. And to us that would mean cheaper electric bills. Yet another win win situation. Now as far as way up north. Where the winds have very little resistance over the flat ice. The output of power could be understandably immense. But, we are talking about hurricane force winds reaching amazing speeds. Speeds that would rip a standard fan blade to pieces. So to put this issue to rest I once again have thought a little outside the box. By using a barrel style fan with blades that flex like and iris. You could control the surface area that the wind comes in contact with. Now as I said the blades would be able to move, I figure the faster the wind blows the tighter the blades would be towards the center of its hub. allowing the excess wind to pass right by. Now I envision using a centrifugal force weight system to control these blades automatically allowing. Those persons up in those extreme climates to have a readily available power source to be able to provide the energy to make heat, provide communication, as well as lighting. When it was needed most. Hard to go out and turn on a generator if you might get blown away doing so.
